{"id":13671,"date":"2026-01-23T17:01:06","date_gmt":"2026-01-23T22:01:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sandbox0.foxtrotdev.com\/?p=13671"},"modified":"2026-01-23T17:03:05","modified_gmt":"2026-01-23T22:03:05","slug":"your-winter-storm-checklist-prescriptions-doctor-visits-and-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sandbox0.foxtrotdev.com\/?p=13671","title":{"rendered":"Your Winter Storm Checklist: Prescriptions, Doctor Visits and More"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>We Are Here for You<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The National Weather Service is forecasting a severe winter storm in our area beginning Saturday night.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The storm will bring heavy snow and ice as well as dangerously cold temperatures.<\/li>\n<li>Travel will be impacted.<\/li>\n<li>Power outages may occur.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As your partner in health, we want to make sure you have access to those services and supplies you depend upon to support your health and well-being. Follow this checklist to prepare:<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Prescriptions<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Pick up any prescriptions that are ready<\/strong>. Make every effort to get to the pharmacy to pick you your prescription(s) as soon as possible, and before the storm hits.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Consider getting an early refill.<\/strong> If a State of Emergency is declared, you can refill a prescription early.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Have a backup plan for refrigerated medication. <\/strong>If your medicine needs to be kept in the fridge, talk to your pharmacist about what to do if you lose power.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Walgreens will be updating the store locator <\/strong>on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.walgreens.com\/storelocator\/find.jsp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Walgreens.com<\/a> and the Walgreens mobile app with the latest information on store hours and closures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Note: <\/strong>Severe weather may cause delays in Walgreens mail-order shipping. While standard orders take 5 to 10 days, this can be extended during disruptions. If you cannot receive your mail-order medication due to weather-related delivery delays, contact your local Walgreens, which may be able to assist with refills or transfers.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Doctor Visits<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Reschedule any cancelled appointments. <\/strong>If you or your doctor\u2019s office had to cancel an appointment due to the storm, make a new appointment as soon as you can. Don\u2019t let it slip your mind \u2014 your health is too important.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Use telehealth if you can\u2019t leave home. <\/strong>You have access to <a href=\"https:\/\/sandbox0.foxtrotdev.com\/virtual-care-services\/\">telehealth services<\/a> from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. on weekdays and 24\/7 on weekends. Your doctor or specialist may also offer video appointments. Check with their office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>We\u2019re here for you <\/strong>\u2014 weekdays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call <a href=\"tel:8008087347\">800-808-7347<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Our support team will continue to be available during normal hours of operation. If services are disrupted, we will add a message on the phone line.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Be Prepared<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure your phone and other devices are fully charged before the storm in case of power outages.<\/li>\n<li>Collect flashlights and check batteries.<\/li>\n<li>Pick up anything on the floor of your house that may cause you to trip. If you lose power, it may be harder to see.<\/li>\n<li>Keep important phone numbers handy in case of emergency. If you have important numbers on your phone, write them down in case you lose battery charge.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure you have a supply of drinking water in advance in case water service is interrupted.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure you have enough food to last through the storm and beyond in case your ability to travel to the grocery store is impacted by weather.
